Applicants must be a graduating senior from an area high school and must be planning to attend an institution of higher education. Applicants are not required to be members of the WRGC.
i Applicants with an interest in environmental sciences and related majors may receive preference. Award amounts vary on the basis of the number of award recipients and scholarship budget allocated for that year.
scholarships range between $500 and $1,250.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must complete all of the application questions and are responsible for ensuring that all of the
required documents are forwarded to the Scholarship Committee by the application deadline. Only complete application packages will be reviewed. Submission should be mailed to the address below.
A complete application will include the following for the committee’s consideration:
1. Completed application (cover sheet and answers to the bulleted list)
2. Two letters of recommendation from non-family members
3. A typed essay detailing your future plans (1-2 pages / 250-500 words)
4. Official copy of high school transcript
PAYMENT OF SCHOLARSHIP
The recipients of the scholarship must maintain full-time enrollment status at an institution for continuing
education. The full scholarship will be paid directly to the student at the end of the first semester of college
coursework and only after submission of the student’s official transcript of the semester grades showing
satisfactory performance following semester. It is the student's responsibility to make sure that transcripts
are received in a timely manner following the student’s first semester. Official transcripts should be mailed
to WRGC Scholarship Committee at the address below.

The deadline for receipt of applications and required documents is Friday, March 29, 2024. Mail
postmarked March 29 will be considered as received on March 29. For your assurance, you should mail it
certified/return receipt requested if mailed close to the deadline as the committee is not responsible for
applications not received
