Scoir


What is Scoir?

Scoir is our guidance management system that replaced Naviance. Scoir will provide students with the necessary college and career search tools to prepare students for college and post-secondary planning. Students, will receive lessons and demonstrations in their Guidance Seminars and learn to navigate Scoir.  Students are also encouraged to view this Getting Started with Scoir Tutorial. 

Scoir will compliment the Guidance College/Career Planning Seminars that all students in grades 9-12 will attend throughout the school year. Some specific resources available on Scoir include: 

  • College Search:  This tool allows users to enter criteria such as size, location, cost, availability of specific majors or athletic programs and a list will be provided that meets these criteria. 
  • College Lookup: This tool provides comprehensive information on thousands of US colleges and universities. A link to each college’s website is also detailed videos are provided. 
  • College Compare: This feature allows students to compare how their standardized testing scores and their GPA fare against the colleges that you have selected. This will allow students to determine which colleges will be considered a safety, target and reach. 
  • Scattergrams: This tool provides a graphical view of application outcomes (accepted, denied, waitlisted) at a specific college, using the GPA and SAT scores for PHS students since 2005.

Student/Parent Registration & Logging In

Students will receive an email from Mrs. Goff to register their account with Scoir.  Once each student registers their account, they will be able to login to Scoir by clicking the blue "Login" button at the top of the screen. Students may also access Scoir through Clever. 

Parents can be connected to SCOIR through their student's accounts. Students can invite parents to SCOIR by clicking "Get Started" under the section titled "Invite a Supporter" in the student's profile. Once students are registered they can invite their parents/guardians to Scoir by sending an invitation link, parents will be able to:

  • View their student's profile
  • See their college list
  • Conduct your own college searches
  • Suggest colleges for their student to consider
     

Scoir also provides parents with financial tools so that they can get a better sense of the cost of attendance at various colleges.
