Pembroke High School has earned the SILVER distinction on the 2024 Advanced Placement® (AP®) Program School Honor Roll, as announced by the College Board. After receiving bronze recognition in 2023, the school's jump to silver reflects the remarkable dedication of both students and staff.
The AP School Honor Roll not only recognizes schools with strong results but also those that are committed to expanding access to AP courses and fostering a college-going culture. Pembroke High School's annual honor is a reflection of its efforts to provide students with opportunities to earn college credit and maximize college readiness.
At PHS, 67% of seniors took at least one of the 18 AP exams offered during high school. This year, 47% of our seniors scored a three or higher on an AP Exam, and an impressive 6% of seniors took five or more AP Exams.
Pembroke High School has worked continuously to grow its AP program, expanding the number of courses and opportunities available to students through its open enrollment process. This success is a testament to the dedication of staff, students, and families and the school's commitment to preparing students for life beyond high school.
The College Board’s AP Program allows students to tackle college-level coursework while in high school, with the potential to earn college credit or advanced placement. Through these challenging courses, students develop critical thinking, argumentation, and problem-solving skills that serve them well in college, careers, and beyond.
